The FARMSTAND AT ROOTWOOD CIDER…
RWC Farmstand vision
As a goal of enhancing the local food infrastructure in our rural area, The Farmstand at Rootwood Cider will provide a platform for local farmers and artisans to sell their products. We plan to prominently feature produce from Wildnow Farms, as well as fruit from our own orchards and other local growers. Additionally, we will offer locally made salsa, cheese, dried pasta, and honey.
Our goal is to create a mini farmers' market, open from dawn to dusk, operating on a self-serve, honor-system basis.
The farmstand is situated right next to Rootwood Cider Company, which already has a strong farm-to-table connection that we aim to enhance. The apple orchard adds charm to the area, making it a delightful destination for locals and visitors. It will also serve as an ideal starting point for U-pick apples every fall.
Thanks to our investment in adequate refrigeration, our produce will be maintained at optimal temperatures. This guarantees a high-quality product that can be purchased at peak freshness—a rarity when compared to grocery store offerings.
Anyone who enjoys discovering local products and values supporting small, family-owned producers will have the opportunity to do so at the farmstand.
This project has been made possible by support from the WSDA Local Food Infrastructure Grant.
